Mix of the day: Adeline Supreme’s summery tech house

Delivered... Johnny | Scene | Thu 24 Jun 2010 10:04 am

When producer, songwriter and DJ Adeline Supreme finished third in Next Generation DJ challenge this spring, the jury praised her “exquisite taste and impeccable musical talent”.

This boxfresh mix is one of our favourites so far in the We Love…Space competition, and testament to the same. It features Adeline’s spanking new track Would You and a bunch of other summery bits of percussive, vocal, techy house from acts like Ost & Kjex and Marek Hemann & Fabian Reichelt. Nice one.

Mix of the day: Ellen Allien in the house!

Delivered... Johnny | Scene | Mon 21 Jun 2010 10:23 pm

Ellen Allien needs no introduction. In this excellent mix hosted by R.fm, the BPitch Control head honco and Berlin techno queen drops rhythms a bit more on the house side of things: Smash TV:s repetetive deep house and Shit Robot’s old school Chicago vibes, just to nama a few. It’s still Ellen-minimal though – and still freaking awesome.

Mix of the day: Low Kill battling for Hastings’ club scene

Delivered... Johnny | Scene | Tue 25 May 2010 5:34 pm

Hastings, England, is probably more known for a great battle about 1000 years ago than its club scene. But judging from Low Kill, a local DJ duo, there’s some good electro house action going on at the Hastings discos too. Low Kill’s latest podcast features tracks from LCD Soundsystem, Tiga and Boys Noize & Erol Alkan. Nuff said!

Mix of the day: Cosmo Vitelli sleazing up vintage disco grooves

Delivered... Johnny | Scene | Mon 24 May 2010 10:33 am

cosmovitelli

French DJ and producer Cosmo Vitelli, famed remixer of Daft Punk and Junior Boys and label boss at I’m A Cliche, takes his name from a sleazy night club manager in John Casavettes 70’s noir classic The Killing of Chinese Bookie.

Sleaze, in the positive, disco sense, is also something of Cosmo Vitelli’s trademark as a DJ. In this mix, brought to you by R.fm and recorded live at Mona in his hometown Paris earlier this year, Cosmo lays out vintage and updated disco grooves that would make dancers go crazy at any given point in club history. And there’s the odd house classic too, mais oui!

Mix of the day: All DJ Kaz does is party

Delivered... Johnny | Scene | Fri 21 May 2010 3:18 pm

At least judging from the A-Trak remix of MSTRKRFT and N.O.R.E.’s Bounce, which comes on about 20 minutes into this banging, mashed-up mix of electro, rock and house. Since DJ-Kaz is based in Kumamoto, Japan, we haven’t actually seen him spin live. But hearing this – AC/DC mixed with Diplo – he seems to know how to get some pretty crazy club vibes going.

Let’s get ready for the weekend boys and girls!

Mix of the day: The Black Dog lounging at a Real Airport

Delivered... Johnny | Scene | Tue 18 May 2010 3:53 pm

Legendary British production team The Black Dog have released seminal electronic music since the early 90’s. Their new album, Music for Real Airports, is out now on Soma, and has been described as “a contemporary reply to Brian Eno’s work from the 70s”.

That would mean some kick-assly beautiful ambient, then. In this album promo mix, provided by our good friends R.fm, the Black Dog delivers an hour of nothing less.
