Catch Claude vonStroke’s closing set at Movement 2014 now

Delivered... Jason Black | Scene | Tue 5 Aug 2014 11:00 am
Dirtybird Records founder and label boss Claude vonStroke, 43, knows what moves Detroit. He should. He spent his formative years roaming the Motor City's mean streets after moving there from his childhood home of Cleveland, Ohio. Fast forward to 2006, his landmark single "Who's Afraid Of Detroit?" was the best expression of that sound so far, capturing the deep, dark, sweaty vibe of Motown's industrial, after-hours warehouse scene. A few months back, the LA-based DJ producer known to his close friends and family simply as Barclay Crenshaw closed out the Beatport stage on Saturday night at Movement 2014. As you'd expect from CVS, it was his usual signature mix of dance music including ghetto-tech, booty bass, and jackin' house hits.
